Description

This compressor pedal from Wampler adds an element of control to your playing. It brings the quieter parts up and tightens the louder parts. A good tube amp when driven will add a bit of natural compression, but using a pedal like the Wampler Ego adds a depth of possibilites not found on your typical amp. Unlike many budget compressors where you get the squash and squeeze of a driven amp, but lose all your dynamics, the Ego was designed with sustain, attack, and tone knobs. This allows you the ability to dial in the exact sound you need.

Blend Control

Easily transition between a fully effected sound and a clean signal with the sweep of the blend knob. Find the point in that sweep that allows you all the compression you need to even out your playing and increase your sustain without any detraction from you playing attack and feel. When this pedal is used as an effect rather than set to always on, it lets you control your solos and fatten up your rhythms. A little extra bit of sparkle allows your guitar to sit in a place in the band just a little higher, and a little sweeter in the mix.
