True to its roots, the AP66SHB is a 12-fret parlor guitar with a slotted headstock. Unlike many smaller-bodied acoustics, its quarter-sawn, hand-sanded scalloped bracing is placed slightly forward (towards the soundhole) which allows the solid spruce top to resonate more freely. The result is an extremely strong, clear, articulate voice, with an incredible string-to-string balance that lends itself well to both fingerpicking and flatpicking, in standard or alternate tunings.The brilliant high-gloss Shadowburst finish really shows off the beauty of the mahogany back & sides.
